Danielle Chambers,Self Directed learning was a great experience for me. I learned about a subject that I was interested in and I also learned how to be a better learner.
Collin McClain,The Self-Directed Learning program has given me critical skills for my future studies. The self reflective work as a learner is valuable both for my continuing education and also for moving into a future work life.
Dondo Zakheim,Self-Directed Learning is figuring out how to learn beyond school while you are still enrolled in school, and with the support of your peers and experienced, caring professors and advisors.
Self-Directed Learning (SDL) Projects are an opportunity for Adult Bachelor's Program students to conduct applied, experimental, innovative projects at the intersection of creative practice, intellectual inquiry, and civic engagement.
SDL Projects are conducted when it makes the most sense for your academic trajectory—not just in your final year of study. Students produce work that informs their trajectory of study and that enables them to advance toward their career goals and/or prepare for graduate school.
SDL Projects also save you money, making your New School education a bit more affordable.
